Rotating Photos in an Inspection Report

Photos inside an inspection report cannot be rotated. The photos would need to be downloaded to your computer, rotated and dragged into the inspection report. There are a few steps in order to achieve this.

To correct the rotation of photos you will need to download them from an inspection report.
The downloaded photos will be in a compressed file. These photos will need to be extracted in order for the following steps to work.
When the file has been downloaded to the computer (normally into the Downloads folder),
right-click the compressed file,
click on Extract all and Extract.
The photos will appear in the uncompressed folder that is named the same as the compressed file.

Set the photos to show as Large icons. This will be easier to see which photos need to be rotated. Select all the photos that need to be rotated to the same "left" or "right" option. Right-click on the photo and select the Rotate right or Rotate left option. The photos will rotate and save automatically.

You cannot drag and drop these photos into the current inspection as those photos are still there with the same file name.

Palace has the option to duplicate an inspection. Duplicating an inspection will make an exact copy except for the images. See the following article related to duplicating an inspection report - How to duplicate an existing inspection

Go to the Images tab in the inspection report.

Select the photos, click and hold while dragging over to the empty space in the "Images" tab and then let go of the mouse button.

If there are a large number of photos to drag and drop, this will need to be done in small amounts. 80-100 photos at a time so the processing of the report will not take too long. Doing too many photos at a time may time out and some photos may be missing.

A processing notification will appear, the photos will load and when done, click on "Save & close". The photos will rearrange in number order. Click back into the inspection report and the "Images" tab to make sure all the photos are there.

When you have assessed the new duplicated inspection report with the correctly rotated photos and all the information is correct you can now remove the previous inspection report from the diary.

If your user permissions prohibit you from deleting an inspection report you would need to talk with your administrator to do this for you.

If there is an issue with deleting the inspection report you should then change the date of this inspection report as having 2 reports on the same date could confuse the app and there is a chance of the incorrect report being used for the next inspection.

This would be a problem if there was extra work done in the duplicated report with the correctly rotated photos.
