Print button greyed out? Not able to Print? - Clear Cache and Cookies

  • Clear Cache and Cookies - Google Chrome
  • Reset Settings to Default - Google Chrome
  • Clear Cache and Cookies - Microsoft Edge
  • Reset Settings to Default - Microsoft Edge

If you are experiencing some issues in Palace or browsing in general, you may need to clear your cache and cookies.  Revisiting websites often keep an offline copy in the system for faster loading.  Sometimes a new update on the site is not seen.  Clearing these items means that the site will reload all links and images.

Tip: Change to another browser to see if you are able to print. If it works this will show that the default browser needs to be repaired by working through the following steps:

Clear Cache and Cookies - Google Chrome

When you use a browser, like Chrome, it saves some information from websites in its cache and cookies. Clearing these items fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites.

  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • At the top right-hand corner, click the menu buttonunnamed.png
  • Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.

  • Next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, check the boxes.
  • Click Clear data.

Reset Settings to Default - Google Chrome

You can reset your browser settings in Chrome at any time. You might need to do this if apps or extensions you installed changed your settings without your knowledge. Your saved bookmarks and passwords won't be cleared or changed.

  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • Top right-hand corner, click the menu buttonunnamed.png
  • At the bottom, go to Help and click About Google Chrome.
  • Bottom left-hand side click Reset and clean up.
  • Click Restore settings to their original defaults.
  • Click Reset Settings.
  • Once the above has been completed, restart the computer and try again.

Should the issue still happen again after all the above stems have been done you will need to uninstall Chrome, restart the computer, download Chrome and try again.

If you are not using Chrome and are using another web browser you would need to do an Internet search to find out how to reset the browser's cache and cookies.

Clear Cache and Cookies - Microsoft Edge

  • On your computer, open Edge.
  • At the top right-hand corner, click the menu buttonunnamed.png
  • Click Settings
  • On the left-hand side menu, click Privacy, search, and services
  • Look for the Clear browsing data now under the Clear browsing data heading and click on Choose what to clear
  • Click the drop-down of Time range and select All time
  • Click Clear now
  • Sign in to Palace and repeat the steps to see if the printing pop-up shows. If the pop-up still flashes and does not show the browser would need to be reset to default settings.
