Create and edit a document template

Learn how to create and edit your document templates. Create letters that can be sent to an individual or a group of owners or tenants.

This article will cover:

Create a document template

This area is only accessible to people with authority so only a few people can change the templates.

  • Click on System
  • Click on Document templates
  • Click on Create New
  • Create a title
  • Select a document type (The list of document type options is below)
  • Click Save & close

  • Refresh your screen
  • Search for the document
  • Click on the drop-down arrow and click Edit Document

Create an SMS template

  • Click on Create New
  • Create a title
  • Select a document type (The list of document type options is below)
  • Click Save & close

  • Refresh your screen
  • Search for the document
  • Click on the drop-down arrow and click Edit Document

Document type options

Palace has various document-type options. Each type has unique merge fields that can be used.

    • Owner - This type is used if you are not mentioning the property or the tenant. The merge fields will not be available
    • Property - This can be used for owner and property merge fields
    • Tenant - This can be used for all available owner, property and tenant merge fields

Note: When using a tenant type that corresponds to an owner letter, i.e., Owner lease renewal letter. You can still access all available letter types from the diary.

Edit a document template

Once the document has opened you can begin typing The Palace merge fields are available at the top of the screen.

  • Click on the drop-down list
  • Begin typing in the search box for the required merge field
  • Click on the merge field, this will be added to your document
  • When the document is finished, click Save & close

This document is now available to be used.

Edit an SMS template

Once the SMS template has opened you can begin typing The Palace merge fields are available at the top of the screen.

  • Click on the drop-down list
  • Begin typing in the search box for the required merge field
  • Click on the merge field, this will be added to your document
  • When the document is finished, click Save & close

This document is now available to be used.
