Create an inspection template on the app

Summary

Setting up property inspection templates may take time initially, but future inspections will be more efficient. During inspections, easily edit the template at the property and add information and images.

Settings

Understanding inspection app settings is important as this is where you will configure the app for your requirements with features like a signature, saving photos to the camera roll, and Caller ID.

  • Open and sign into the Palace Liquid inspection app
  • Tap Settings

Start an inspection

To start the inspection, go to:

  • Inspections or Contacts
  • Search for and tap on the address
  • Tap Start New Inspection
  • Select the type of inspection
    • Full - Ingoing/Outgoing/Condition/Status report. I.e., empty property
    • Routine - Tenanted/quarterly inspection

If this is the first inspection the master inspection template will appear. This template is found in your Palace database. This would have been edited by an administrator or manager as per the company's chosen layout.

Add a room

To add a new room to your inspection:

  • Tap Menu (three dots at the top right-hand corner of the screen)
  • Tap Add New Room
  • The new room will be added to the bottom of the list

Duplicate a room

To duplicate a room to your inspection:

  • Tap Menu
  • Tap Duplicate Existing Room
  • Tap the room's name to duplicate
  • The duplicated room will be added to the bottom of the list

Rename a room

To rename a room on your inspection with the list of rooms showing:

  • Tap Menu > Edit > Tap on the pencil next to the room you want to change
  • Type the new room name
  • Tap Save
  • Tap:
    • Android - Back arrow
    • Apple - Done

Delete a room

To delete a room in your inspection:

  • In the Room list, tap Menu > Edit
  • Press the X on the room you wish to delete
  • To confirm, Tap Delete

Add a feature

To add a feature to a room in your inspection:

  • Tap into the room you wish to edit
  • Tap Menu > Add New Feature
  • Android
    • Edit the feature's name
    • Tap Add
  • Apple
      • The new feature will be added to the list as New Feature

Rename a feature

To rename a room's feature in your inspection:

  • Tap on the room you want to edit
  • Tap Menu > Edit
  • Tap on the feature
  • Rename
  • Tap:
    • Android - Save
    • Apple - Done
  • Back arrow to return to the features list

Delete a feature

To delete a room's feature in your inspection:

  • Tap on the room you want to edit
  • Tap Menu > Edit
  • Tap on the feature
  • Tap:
    • Android - Delete
    • Tap the Back arrow to return to the features list
    • Apple - menu > Delete
    • Tap Delete
    • Tap Done to return to the features list

Take photos

You can take photos inside each room in the app. These photos will follow the Palace naming sequence.

  • Tap Start New Inspection
  • Tap on your desired template (Full or Routine)
  • Tap on a room
  • Tap on the camera icon
    • Android - Take new photos
  • Take your photo
    • Android - Tap the back arrow
    • Apple - Exit the camera by tapping on X

Note: There is a 1,000-photo limit per inspection

Import photos

This option is handy if photos were taken outside of the app.

  • Start the inspection
  • Tap on a room
    • Android - Tap Take Photos
    • Tap Choose from library
    • Tap Gallery
    • Tap to select photos to be added to the room
    • Tap Done
    • Apple - Tap the upward-facing arrow at the bottom right of the screen
    • Tap to select photos to be added to the room
    • Tap Done

Please Note: Apple - If the app prompts you to grant access to your Photos, tap on Allow Access to All Photos.

Delete an inspection

If you accidentally selected the wrong template, delete the draft inspection to start the inspection again. This will delete all changes you have made since starting the inspection on the app.

  • Tap Menu > Delete
  • Tap Delete again to confirm

Reset to Master Template

When you reset the template to your Master Template, all the current configurations will be removed, i.e., notes, rooms and changes to the inspection report.

  • Start your inspection
  • Tap Menu > Reset to Master Template
  • Tap Reset to Master Template and again to confirm
