Perform video inspections on the app


You can record video inspections in the app. Videos will be uploaded to your company's YouTube Channel. Videos will be unlisted, and the link will be saved in your Palace database property diary.

How it works

Create a free YouTube channel using a Gmail email address. All agents should use the same credentials as this makes it easier to troubleshoot and locate the recording on YouTube if it cannot be found in your Palace database.

Set up a YouTube channel

  • Go to YouTube and click on Sign in (Top Right-hand side of the page)
  • Click on Create Account (UNLESS you already have one) (You may see Create a channel)
  • Follow the prompts
  • If you already have a login, enter your details
  • Click on the Cog YouTube Settings (Top Right-hand corner)
  • Click on See all my channels or create a new channel
  • Click on Create a new channel
  • Name your channel i.e., Property Inspections, then choose Local Business or Place
  • Tick, I agree to the terms
  • Click Finished
  • You can click on Add Channel Art to upload a company logo
  • Move the mouse to the underneath of that box to the right and a pen will appear
  • Click on it to Edit
  • Click on Channel Settings
  • Fill in the information i.e., Country
  • Channel Keywords i.e., Inspections
  • Do not let your channel appear in other channels' recommendations
  • Click Save

You can create an account on YouTube.

Sign in and out of YouTube on the inspection app

  • Open the Palace inspection app on your mobile device
  • Sign into the app
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap on Login to YouTube (If not currently signed in)
  • A new screen will appear for you to log in to your Google account
  • Select the account that you want to use and type in your password
  • After signing into YouTube, it will return to the app's settings screen showing you are now logged into YouTube

  • Tap Inspections or Contacts to enter a property
  • Tap Start Video Inspection
  • When you are done, tap on Submit

Note: If you want to avoid interruptions during a video inspection, you can enable Flight Mode. This will prevent incoming calls from interrupting the recording. Remember to turn off Flight Mode when you're done.
