Holiday Guest - Setting up

Learn how to set up your property and create bookings seamlessly using the Palace and Hostaway integration.

Note: If you are using Hostaway, you must first enable the Hostaway Integration. Bookings can be made directly on the Hostaway website or in Palace.

There are two ways to handle holiday rentals in Palace; one is through the property as guests and the other is to make them tenants.

Configure a property into a holiday property

If you have not yet added a property profile to your Palace database, this must be done first before a holiday booking can be made. The property's management type must be changed to a holiday type.

  • Go to Property > Current properties
  • Search for the property
  • Click on the property's address
  • Under Management, click the drop-down > Click PAL Holidays

  • Click on the More button
  • Click on Save & View

A new tab will appear called Holidays

The Holidays tab

If you are using the Hostaway Integration, this area will auto-fill. Don't enter the guests manually as you will end up doubling up. If you are not using the Hostway Integration, fill in as much information as you can.

  • Go to Property > Current properties
  • Search for the property
  • Click on the property's address
  • Click on the Holidays tab
  • The filter will be set to Current. You can see any current guest bookings that are in the system

  • Change the filter to Completed
  • It will show all previous bookings where the check outdates are now passed and the holiday is fully paid

Create a booking

You can create a guest booking from inside the property.

  • Go to Property > Current properties
  • Search for the property
  • Click on the property's address
  • Click on the Holidays tab
  • Click on Add Guest

  • Add the guest's name
  • Add the guest's first and last names
  • Add the guest's email address
  • Add the guest's phone number
  • Enter the date range of the booking, i.e., Date/Time in and Date/Time out
  • Enter the number of guests
  • Select a status from the drop-down, i.e., New
  • Enter the booking channel, i.e., Where this guest has come from
  • Select a payment method
  • Add any guest and host notes

Expense breakdown

Fill in the relevant fields regarding the booking.

  • Rent - This is the total rent for the whole booking
  • Deposit - The amount of the deposit you require (regardless of whether the money comes off the rent or is a holding amount)
  • Enter the relevant booking and cleaning fees

Note: Ensure you have your fee ledgers set up correctly before receipting guest money.

  • Total Amount of Booking - You'll need to manually calculate the total amount of the booking. Remember to consider whether the deposit is deducted from the actual rent or not
  • Fully Receipted - This remains to No until you have receipted all the money. Then change it to yes
  • Click Save & Close
  • On the property's main screen, click Save & Close
